    Arsenal vs Olympiacos (Champions League)

    ARSENAL FC - OLYMPIACOS CFP
    Wednesday 3 October 2012, KO 19:45

Champions league is back then and we've got a home tie that we really need to be taking advantage of. 6 points after 2 games would be what the doctor ordered and would take a bit of the pressure off us. A win here would be good especially after that Chelsea match. I know that we won last year at home against them even with about 6 changes to the team, but barely, so we really can't slip up at home.

This would be my starting XI:

    Mannone
    Jenkinson - Koscielny - Vermaelen - Gibbs
    Coquelin - Arteta
    Walcott - Cazorla - Podolski
    Giroud

I know it's fairly unlikely to see Walcott start, but I would, Gervinho hasn't been that great, so I'd give Walcott a chance. Very unlikely to happen, I concede, but nevertheless I'd like to see that. Hopefully we also see Coquelin start in for Diaby, rather than Ramsey.

Yeah, I can see Santi being rested here. Giroud has to play, and score.

I'd start Arshavin over Ramsey here. If Wenger is serious about him having a role, he needs playing time. Besides, he is better than Ramsey.

I'd like Gervinho and Giroud to be taken around back and put down.

I like the idea of Arsh coming in and being our European destroyer.

This season Ramsey has played 2 games on the left, he has had 1 bad game and one excellent game there. Arshavin should only be played where Cazorla plays, anywhere else he is useless.

My response to Arshavin playing instead of Ramsey is in regards to the line up that I quote from another poster that has Ramsey playing behind the striker, which is where Arsh is at his best, which is Cazorla's spot as well.

    Szczesny(?)

    Jenkinson Mertesacker Vermaelen Gibbs

    Coquelin Arteta

    Walcott Ramsey Podolski

    Giroud
I'm not saying play Arsh on the left. Hell no.

My favoured front four would be
    Walcott -- Arsh -- Pod
    ---------Giroud-------

    mannone
    jenkinson Mertesacker TV Gibbs
    Coquelin Arteta Ramsey
    Walcott Giroud Gervinho

I think that will be the team. The only problem with that line up is it has the potential to be the most humiliating front line ever if they all have one of their days. Gervinho getting back to the touchline, attempting a step over and shining it onto walcott. Walcott stands on the ball which teas up giroud to smash out for a throw in.

Arshavin needs to play this game, looks in form and both club and player can benefit from this before he leaves us next year.

Olympiakos at home is such a winnable tie and a tonic to get the league loss out of our system, a reset button in time for West Ham.
A traditional Wenger supporter that finally lost patience after the League Cup debacle vs Bradford, 11/12/12

I no longer believe with enough conviction that:-

    - Wenger believes in his players enough to motivate them
    - The players believe in Wenger enough to be motivated by him

and for these two reasons alone, it's time to say thanks for the wonderful memories Arsene but let us part ways in the summer.
