Murray in another Grand Slam final....

5th time lucky for Murray? This time against Novak Djokovic in the US open? can he crack it this time?

personally I think he can, he is improving so much at the moment, I never liked him but in the last 2 years he has grown on me and I hope he goes on to be the champion

Think he can win the final, he seems on good form.

He always can but probably now more so than ever. Nole hasn't been on blistering 2011 level form since January but he is a quite incredible talent. Pressure on Murray's shoulders to make this his first ever Grand Slam is enormous, but he's been through so much that he won't be phased by it. One more stellar Murray performance and I think he'll have his most cherished and defining moment. Anything less will give Djokovic all the room he needs to exploit every shortcoming.

I just wish he plays this game like he has nothing to lose. Don't want him to hold back or play cautiously. Just want him to go all out because that is the only way I think he can win. He has the game and he has the talent. It is purely a mental thing. Yes, he has lost 4 finals but then the fact that he has been making the finals so regularly means that there are going to be more finals for him to play in. This isn't his last chance to win a grand slam and that is how he should approach it. No fear Andy. Come on.

He'll lose again in my opinion. When it comes to the grand slam finals Nadal, Federer and Djokovic have that little something extra he just doesn't have. He can beat any of them in earlier rounds or lesser competitions but when it comes to the big occasion I think he lacks that mental edge that makes the great players great

I think he's finally going to do it. Defeating Federer on grass in the Olympic final was pretty huge for him. I think he's overcome that mental barrier.

I would say it is 70-30 in Djokovic's favour, based on talent, mentality and knowing how to win a grand slam final.

On ability alone I would say it is 50-50. And on form I would say it favours Murray.

If Murray does lose though I can see everyone coming out saying he bottled it, I doubt that will be the case, it will just mean Djokovic played really well and Murray didnt on the day. I have never seen Murray as a bottler, Henman, yes but not Murray. It's just getting to the point where he believes he can win and executes his game plan in a manner where his opponent can't live with it. Just like the Olympic final against Federer.

Murray has a reasonable chance and I really hope he wins just to shut up the doubters that know nothing about Tennis and just see it about winning and losing.

The way he played in the Olympic final showed that he meant business and wouldn't back down which he's been guilty of in big games before.

If he can go with that same kind of attitude to this then it's probably 50/50.

I agree to an extent, he does bottle it in the Grand Slam Finals against the big players, but I think its fair to classify a best of 5 set victory in the olympic final on your home turf as up there close to a par with a grand slam victory. He certainly showed bottle there playing a man who had beaten him everytime they had played in a 5 set final. So maybe its a sign hes cracking it...

You're one of the doubters that know nothing about tennis then

Can you give me an example of how he has bottled it ? Was he 2-0 up in sets then went to pieces ? No. In all the grand slam finals he has been in has he played anyone other than Federer or Novak ? No. The finals he has been in Federer and Djokovic have played immense tennis to beat him.

An Olympic final is nothing like a Grand Slam final imo, I wouldn't read anything into that as far as it showing that Murray has recently developed the mentality/ability to beat the best in a major final.

Apart from it's best of 5 sets of tennis.

Agree he needs to step it up one more notch in mentality and ability to prove he can win a grand slam final. What I disagree passionately about is people calling him a bottler when it's just not true.
