    Gaining Weight

I put on 7kg in the last three months to fatten up a bit all over because I think I'm too thin but it seems like all that fat's just gone to the stomach. So despite being 7kg heavier, my upper body looks exactly the same as it did when I was 58kg except now I'm tubby. How much do you actually have to gain to get fatter arms, chest, face, neck etc? Not talking about muscle mass, just chub.

I read that for my height (5'9") the rule of thumb is I need to be 70kg to not look skinny and 66kg to be at the ideal BMI weight for my height (latter I've basically achieved but with fairly poor fat distribution).

I suffer from very similar problem, obviously I'd like to get muscle rather than just fat on my stomach, which I try to achieve by working out, a lot, slow progress but it still mostly goes to my stomach. Sorry if you were expecting a helpful response Hassan!

Weight gaining is about the quality of food and nutrition frequency. Good way to gain weight is to eat average in quantity meals in intervals of 2-3 hours, major constituents of your, broadly speaking, diet must be meat, rice, potatoes.

Work out your daily maintenance macros, add 5%, 50% protein and you'll be good.

Lift weights, eat heaps and you'll gain weight which will be distributed better than just eating and not lifting. This would only take a few months.

I was like you when I was 15. I was very underweight, skinny looking and it was holding me back in my social and sporting life. I simply made sure I eat 4 huge meals packed with protein, carbs, minerals and little fat. Then I worked out everyday, legs, core, cardio, arms and back. The results were astounding

    just gotta have dedication

I've always found that being dedicated to a specific sport helps me gain and lose weight when I want. Because I boxed/kickboxed for so many years, I've always found it easier to gain and lose weight and to get dedicated when I need to be. During winter when I'm busy with Uni and whatnot and I'm always wearing layer upon layer of clothing I tend not to worry too much but when summer comes along and I know I'm going on holiday and whatnot.. I always hit the boxing gym again and go through a routine and within 2 months I find my body is the ideal shape I want it to be.

I'm lazy like that.. during winter I just allow myself to lose muscle definition and whatnot because I find I'm too busy and/or lazy to bother working out but as soon as Summer is on the horizon I rededicate myself to the gym. I'd suggest picking up a sport like Boxing as you'll find it easier to dedicate yourself to getting into good shape and whatnot.
The Italian national football team has won the FIFA World Cup 4 times (1934, 1938, 1982, and 2006), trailing only Brazil (with 5). Italy's club sides have won 27 major European trophies, making them the most successful Europian nation in the subject of football.

Exert yourself, feed yourself and as your body recovers you'll see amazing results.

Didn't want to start a new thread to ask so my question is this:

I'm bulking at the moment, aiming for about 2800 calories a day, my breakfast which I started 3 days ago is 4 scrambles eggs (only 1 yolk) a tin of baked beans, a slice of buttered brown bread and a banana, is this pretty good? Anything you'd change, I love how easy it is, literally 4 minutes from start to on a plate. My main concern is the beans, are these good?

If bulking I'd probably eat all the yolks. Secondly watch out for baked beans, sugar content can be quite high. Generally it's not too bad. Id mix it up day to day as it will become boring over time.

That's fine and beans are OK too as long as they don't contain too much sugar but I'm sure you will soon get a bit bored of the same breakfast every day and it might be worth mixing it up a bit with say bran flakes or porridge on training days assuming you are training and then milk or a protein shake after you have trained.

I've been having porridge with an egg mixed in everyday for the last god knows how long and to be honest, I'm already sick of this breakfast but I don't really mind, I'm doing it as its easy and hopefully good for me, I'm beyond the point of enjoying breakfast . Maybe I could alternate between the two every day or 2.

The reason I'm not having the yolks is I'm taking in 5-6 eggs a day and apparently that many yolks is bad for you whereas you can have as many whites as you want within reason so I'm sticking to a 1 yolk for every 4-5 eggs at the moment. I'm trying to keep my bulk as clean as possible although I do sometimes grab a pack of crisps or a small chocolate bar which is bad but I'm really trying to be as good as possible. I'm up over 2 stone since December, I'm at 12st 1 now, when I get to 13 I'm going to cut and hopefully all this hard work will have paid off
