I'd love us to go and get a good finisher.

Any good finisher can get 25 goals in a season with a good team around them but very few have the all round game van Persie does. It's annoying watching us struggle in games but he has to stay the furthest man up because he's 'the striker' when he's the one you most want on the ball...

    Would love something like...

    Ba
Podolski - van Persie - Walcott

    or

    Ba
Podolski - Wilshire - van Persie

None of these guys - Ba, Giroud, Podolski, Suarez - are close to van Persie's level in terms of his all round game. Some are closer than others but it's just clutching at straws talking hopefully of replacement signings and like-for-like.

How do you come back from losing the best player in the league?!

Ba won't leave his mate Papiss (best player in the world) all alone up in Newcastle anyway, they're a tagteam duo now.
A traditional Wenger supporter that finally lost patience after the League Cup debacle vs Bradford, 11/12/12

I no longer believe with enough conviction that:-

    - Wenger believes in his players enough to motivate them
    - The players believe in Wenger enough to be motivated by him

and for these two reasons alone, it's time to say thanks for the wonderful memories Arsene but let us part ways in the summer.

It isn't like Arsene is going to look for a replacement now.

I don't see us getting him but him & poldi would be a decent replacement for rvp in a worst case scenario for which i'm preparing myself for.

I really wouldnt be excited if we got him. In the first half season i wanted him to go to liverpool for big money because I thought his form wouldnt last long.

It isn't Andy Carrol we're talking about.

We don't get excited for signing proven premiere league players at Arsenal. If a signing doesn't come from Ligue 1 or is a youngster from a lower league English team, or is ganked from Barfa's U-16 team then its not an exciting signing.

I think it would be a good buy for Ba at 7 million on a 3 year deal.
    I change my signature often

I still put Ba's dip in form down to the arrival of Cisse. He had to take a backseat, or rather a wide one as Cisse can't play any other role than the one he did. I don't think it was a Benjani style amazing half season and then a return to usual shit form. Think he'd be a great signing if RvP left. I do honestly think Podolski and Ba would be better than RvP and Chamakh, despite neither of them actually being on RvP's level. I'd prefer to have the goals spread between two players than just one like this season.

Doubt it'll happen but that's just my view, it'd also be excellent value at 7 odd million, better value than I think could be found elsewhere considering that he's used to the league
"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

Just to summarise, JBL raised some good points about him. He has medical issues with his knees. Not worth the risk.

He's played 34 league games this season and played in an international tournament. Good enough for me.

The only reason I wouldn't bother is the fact that there is another African cup next season.

I don't think he dipped in form, just dipped in goalscoring form. He was still a good player for Newcastle but wasn't relied on for goals once Cisse turned up.

How about signing the pair of them if RvP leaves
