    FIFA 13

Probably deserved to be lol'd at for making this thread this early but I was just looking through our starting 11 on FIFA 12 (with the inclusion of Podolski) and was wondering what rating I would give them on FIFA 13 and what I think EA will give them, and because the current campaign has almost come to an end there's not alot our players can do to heavily swade their future rating on the game so I thought fuck it.

    Starting 11 + FIFA 12 ratings..

    GK: Wojciech Szezeney (80)

    RB: Bacary Sagna (83)
    CB: Laurent Koscielny (80)
    CB: Thomas Vermaelen (82)
    LB: Kieran Gibbs (75)

    RCM: Alex Song (82)
    LCM: Mikel Arteta (81)
    CAM: Jack Wilshere (82)

    RW: Theo Walcott (82)
    ST: Robin van Persie (88)
    LW: Lucas Podolski (83)
What I think they should get..

    GK: Wojciech Szezeney (81/82)

    RB: Bacary Sagna (84/85) +1/2
    CB: Laurent Koscielny (82) +2
    CB: Thomas Vermaelen (82) 0
    LB: Kieran Gibbs (76/77) +1/2

    RCM: Alex Song (83/84) +1/2
    LCM: Mikel Arteta (82) +1
    CAM: Jack Wilshere (82) 0

    RW: Theo Walcott (83) +1
ST: Robin van Persie (89) +1
    LW: Lucas Podolski (83) - N/A
What I think EA will give them..

    GK: Wojciech Szezeney (81)

    RB: Bacary Sagna (84)
    CB: Laurent Koscielny (81)
    CB: Thomas Vermaelen (82)
    LB: Kieran Gibbs (76)

    RCM: Alex Song (83)
    LCM: Mikel Arteta (82)
    CAM: Jack Wilshere (82)

    RW: Theo Walcott (83)
    ST: Robin van Persie (88)
    LW: Lucas Podolski (82)
Couple of things I want to see happen...there are more but I've reached my typing limits and I just cant be bothered to continue for much longer lol..

    - Robin van Persie to an 89. He's always been a decent player but after this season's performances and results (goals/assists) he has to be right up there with the best 5 or so players in the world right now, and whilst 88 is still a great rating, there's players with that rating who haven't performed as well as him or who are regarded as one of the very best in world football at this moment in time.

    - Koscielny's speed needs to be fixed, it's way too low. Him and Verms also need a badge to their name like tackling or tactician.

    - Van Persie deserves the gold complete forward badge. He's currently got clinical finisher and distance shooter, but he could quite easily be given the poacher or dribbler one to get him that complete forward badge.

Share your thoughts bitches, oh and if you're going to give two sets of ratings like I have (what you think they deserve and what you think EA will give them..) then don't be biased and be honest.

I tried to be as honest as possible but I've still given the majority of the starting 11 extra points when it' highly likely, knowing EA/FIFA, only a few of them will be improved.

Nice post :P, Has anyone else noticed how biased FIFA 12 is towards all the "Super Clubs" (Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc..).

I guess FIFA think it's logical that if a ball is played over the top to Walcott and it lands just outside the box with Walcott 10 yards away and Joe Hart(SUPERMAN!) is starting on his goal line, Hart can beat Walcott to the ball with AT LEAST 5 yards to spare!

The game is fucking broken IMHO.. But I still play it i dno why

I agree with your ratings street, fifa give teams like Liverpool better players than us a bloody joke.

Metalblade I am just like you, worst Fifa for years IMO but still play it because it's the latest and nothing better. The game's mechanics are all over the place. Sometimes good a lot of the time bad.

Worst thing is is the impact engine when players colide for no reason and cost you a goal by playing everyone onside from the penalty area and or they take 2 minutes to get up. I hope the next Fifa sorts this.

Just played around with our starting 11 on FIFA 12 to get their FIFA 13 ratings..

What I think they should get bar Van Persie's 90 rating which I think should be 89, though the general opinion on his rating on FIFA 13 from the EA forums is 89/90 so you never know.

What I think EA/FIFA will give them, though I still think I've been a little kind so I wouldn't be surprised if they were even lower..

Fans choose the ratings. I applied to be one but there was no spaces available for Arsenal Data reviewers, Should have gone for Stevenage. There is also the fans who look at the data received and see if it is a good reason for putting an attribute up or down.

Info on the game for the first time plus a couple of pointless pictures that don't really tell you anything..

At the recent London showcase, the main producer David Rutter, told to his guests that FIFA 13 will have 5 major improvements and we will list them bellow:

    First Touch Control
One of the first things to do at FIFA 13 was to implement a more realistic ball control. Now it will be more difficult to control a receiving ball with your player. It all depends on the strength, the speed, the ball height and the technical skills of your player to achieve the control of the ball and run with it.

    Player Impact
Another feature that got improved is the player impact engine. There will be no more unrealistic animations in the players challenges! The engine has been optimized and new a set of impact values has been added at the hip and the upper body area.

    Complete Dribble
In FIFA 12 you could dribble just by changing direction,in FIFA 13 this won’t be possible anymore!

    Tactical Free-Kicks
The free-kicks got a new free kick system.Up to three players can now gather around the ball and make fun of the opponent’s defense and goalie. You can now feint a direct shot and adjust it to a player who comes off the wall. Also the defense set pieces have been improved to go with the new free kick system. For example, you can make a defensive team with more players into the wall and send out a player to block the ball.

    Attacking AI
The offensive Artificial Intelligence got a huge improvement. The CPU-controlled players got better running routes and better guessing options of where you pass the ball. Also the strikers are smarter and move with the offside line of your defenders, waiting to receive the ball and run with it towards your goal post.

Beside all of these improvements,David Rutter still wants to make other upgrades to the game such as, new passing types, new shot rotation moves and new goalkeeper animations. Also the cheering animations have been adjusted to the current football atmosphere. One last thing he really wants to improve is the referee!

The graphics in FIFA 13 will also have a big update after EA Sports adopted the new Dimensional Imaging software to boost player likeness!

I don't know what their endgame is, but it feels like every year they are making it harder and harder to play.

Now I like this kind of thing personally and I think the best player should win, but surely if they carry on it'll get to a stage that people are going to get fed up of getting slaughtered online because everyone else is much better than them at knowing the buttons. Fifa has always been quite accesible and if you know about football and know enough of the buttons you'll do alright.

I get a bit annoyed when I play someone that knows how to do (and how to use effectively) all the Ronaldo flicks but I know I could learn them all and that's a part of my game I try to develop (I like that ) but for your average guy surely they're going to end up alienating a lot of people?

When you jump online to play real people, you're playing people in your division. Apart from the opening few days from release, Division 10 tends to be full of newcomers seeing as it's so easy to get out of, so it really shouldn't be out of a player's depth. If a player's exceptionally crap at the game and doesn't improve while playing, it's hardly the game's fault tbh. That goes for every game, you can't expect to be amazing when you just start. It's all subjective but I think most aspects of the game are straightforward for anyone that actually watches the sport. The days of pick-up-and-play arcade football games look to have passed (last of these was FIFA 10), the demand for a more dynamic and realistic sim is more frequent.

Song and Sagna should hopefully get 84-85. Van Persie is knocking on the door of a 90 rating. Koscielny and Szczesny should improve to 81-83.

Gervinho will go down a fair bit.

As for the rest, they will all stay in and around where they are I would have thought. These don't reflect what I think they deserve btw, just what I think they will get.

The North Remembers. Winter is Coming.

Maybe online isn't that big a deal for a long term player but I know a few people who had it as it was the standard multiplayer game for offline but weren't very good and in my office we play it and have to bully the newcomers that didn't love it before to play it and become decent at it (when they don't like/care about football), and taking the accessibility away from it would really turn guys like that off and it's never seemed like a very 'EAish' thing to do.

I've tried to tell people how to play it before the new tackling came in and I've no idea how I'd try to explain that to someone who's never played it before, nor a 'ah what you did there was your first touch was off, you need to use the first touch button to do your first touch' or 'you didn't finish your dribble', I can imagine new peeps or kids just being like 'fuck this' and playing something else.

Well on offline if it's hard you can just put legacy defending on which is the old defensive control (pressure button). What I explained to my mate who got the game in January was to forget using the standard tackle button altogether, it's very much a 'last ditch challenge' button and not something that works.

The main way to tackle is to simply hold LT/L2 (jockey button) and look to walk over or get in the way of the ball. You only hold the jockey button when the attacker is near you, so when they're not you can position yourself i.e. sprint to get near. Then once you've explained that concept, wait till they get that right. If a person knows nothing about football they could probably take a lot longer to get it. If they now understand what to do you can explain the more intricate stuff.

I'd like to point out that I'm a bit of beast with slide tackles.

here are trhe first details off whats coming in fifa13-FIFA 13's first details have been leaked ahead of an expected announcement later this month.

EA recently presented the game in London and highlighted the five major improvements coming to this year's edition, NeoGAF reports.

First Touch Control will see incoming balls more difficult to control, with the strength, speed, player skill and ball height all influencing how the ball is received and dealt with.

Offensive AI is set to receive an overhaul, with smarter strikers that move with the offside line and that will choose better running routes when off the ball.

A new free kick system will enable gamers to feint shots, which can be followed by a pass to a player coming off the wall, while up to three players can gather round the ball and "make fun of the opponent's defence and goalie".

Defensive options on free kicks are also improved, allowing more players to be directed into the wall or out to block the ball.

Finally, Complete Dribble will be offered. While few details were provided, you will no longer be able to change direction and begin dribbling as with FIFA 12.

Elsewhere, player likenesses will be improved thanks to new Dimensional Imaging software, while new cheering and goalkeeping animations, passing types and referee behaviours will be added.

Last year EA told Digital Spy that it would be targeting "gameplay nuance" in its 2012 instalment, as well as adding Kinect functionality.

Content with the news about the AI because right now they're incapable of doing anything offensively in Be a Pro. They never make any decent runs and totally suck in general. I heard rumours about Pro Clubs going back to the 09 structure, that would be amazing. Virtual Pro sucks dick.
