The biggest things in life have been achieved by people who, at the start, we would have judged crazy. And yet if they had not had these crazy ideas the world would have been more stupid.

Cheers Jake if I'm reading between the lines in the right way and to MrBigSpuds too and anyone else who might also have......it's up to 6 now.

Trion I explained to you once already why I elaborated on your "thought so" reply but maybe you are too young to have the attention span for it to sink in.

You clearly said "thought so" to indicate you already suspected what my views were on whether I judged Arsene Wenger in qualifying for the CL or finishing empty handed again and when I replied the latter, you responded with thought so. I then indicated that had I asked you the same you would have probably said the CL option and then I could just as easily replied "thought so" to you. I then gave my reasons, which was also why I then mentioned Chelsea and Liverpool because we have been doing similar things to them over the years and have flirted with not making the top 4 on more than one occasion and but for a few huge slices of luck then that could have happened a few times already.

Oh and one of the likes for your last post was from me by the way, as it genuinely tickled me that with the content it contained, you still feel comfortable in calling others lunatics.

This so called Chelsea fan watched us (that's Arsenal btw) win our first double and was one of my earliest memories of colour television, saw players play live like Bob Wilson, Pat Rice, Bob McNab, Sammy Nelson, Frank Mclintock, Peter Simpson, Peter Storey, George Armstrong, John Radford, Charlie George, Ray Kennedy, Jimmy Rimmer, Alan Ball, David O'Leary (as a teenager) Liam Brady, Frank Stapleton, Malcolm McDonald, Pat Jennings, Alan Sunderland, Willie Young (you might even have heard of a few of them) and most of the players throughout the 80s and 90s.......I even remember seeing Rimmer at a time when he wouldn't have ever got stick for his name.

I also went to what were considered intimidating away grounds and sometimes stood (no seats in those days) in the away ends to at places like Millwall, Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham, Leeds and so on during the 70s and 80s at grounds where the catering could poison you and you were swimming almost up to your ankles in piss if you ever needed the toilet. I've also been locked inside grounds long after the game was over and then been herded like cattle on the way out by police on horseback and gone to away testimonial games just because Arsenal were the other team involved and remember doing so and even seeing Jimmy Greaves play live.......that must be some real dedication for a Chelsea fan eh?

Hes at it again cant he just keep quiet and let whats going to happen instead of being goaded into answering thses questions.

It opens the club up to further ridicule and the usual oh hes just trying to justify his lack of trophies blah blah blah.

I want to believe you Arsene but the way you keep banging on about it sounds like were getting desperate.

    Wenger - We can compete

Gunners boss will continue to spend wisely

Arsene Wenger is adamant that Arsenal can continue to challenge for the Premier League title despite being unable to compete financially with their rivals.

The Gunners have gone seven years without a trophy and last secured the top-flight crown back in 2004.

Big-spending by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City has hindered the Gunners' efforts, with Wenger favouring a cautious approach in his transfer dealings.

He is not about to change his ways and believes that sticking to the philosophies which have served him well in the past will ensure that Arsenal remain competitive in the pursuit of domestic dominance.

"Firstly, I must say that not being able to match the spending of the richest clubs does not mean that you can't compete with them on the pitch," Wenger told Time Out Hong Kong.

    Resources

"It does not mean you can't win the title if you can't compete financially."

"When I first came to England, this question did not exist. Every club was run within its resources.

"The Chelsea and the Man City are new problems. But with this new financial environment, what has not changed at all is our policy that we will be as ambitious as ever and spend the money that we have available, if possible in an intelligent and wise way.

"We have always spent money because we are ambitious for top-class players and if you look at the history of our last 15 years, we have always had top-class players.

That player is quite possibly the most marked man in world football at the moment when it comes to scouting interest. Let's not bother discussing.

Arsène Wenger says he is not finished in the transfer market this summer.

The Arsenal manager has already strengthened his attacking options by signing Lukas Podolskifrom Cologne and Olivier Giroud from Montpellier. But he has been linked with further signings, including Spanish international Santi Cazorla.

Wenger would not be drawn on specific targets when he faced the media in Beijing on Wednesday but the Frenchman hopes to add to his squad before the transfer window closes.

"You see I have come here to say as little as possible!" joked Wenger, before adding, "I am ready to talk a lot, but not a lot about transfers, because it is a very fragile subject and a very secret subject.

"We bought Giroud and Podolski and I hope that we bought Diaby and Wilshere too, who didn't play at all last season. We will add Wilshere to the squad as soon as possible. But we are not at the end of it [transfers] - we will still bring players in."

Wenger was also asked about the future of Robin van Persie after landing in China for the second leg of the Arsenal 2012 Tour, presented by Emirates. His answer was unequivocal.

"There is nothing to elaborate. The options are clear - we want to keep our players. I would be happy for him to stay in the English Premier League - at Arsenal."

    Yes, please. More is better
