Stupid comparison, they sacked Rafa after they finished 7th.

Or are you talking about the appointment afterwards? Oh please Liverpool unfortunately had two incompetent fucks as owners. I seriously doubt our board would be that stupid.

    Underachieved under Stroller?
    Are you sure?

For my money, George Graham's 1991 title winning team is the best Arsenal team i've seen play.

That is opinion and obviously you are part of the very small minority that rates the 91 team better than the 98 and 2004 team. Also added to the fact it wasn't even in the Premier League era it isn't half as impressive as the 2004 team.

But that's just opinion after all.

Can you please clarify why you feel George Graham's Arsenal "under achieved"?

I'd say that the 91 team was a good bit better than the 98 team and a little bit better than the 2004 team.

Why does it need to be in the "Premier League era" to be impressive?

For such a good team he had he under achieved. A 10th place and then a 4th place finish in his last 2 seasons was a joke with the players he had.

These days the people on here go into meltdown after we finish 4th imagine what it would be like if we finished 10th.

But ok, GG is some sort of hero on here even though he fucked off to spurs.

    10th place finish in 1993.
This was due to "giving up" on the league campaign as he decided to concentrate on the league and fa cups.
Oh, and we won them both, the only team to ever do so.

Hmm, a 4th place finish in 1994 under George Graham with players like Ian Selley, Eddie McGoldrick and David Hillier is a joke but when Arsene Wenger finishes 4th.......
And we won a european cup that year too.

And i was well fucked off when he went to the yids.
But, to me, that doesn't diminish what he achieved as manager of Arsenal.

Era when a hell of alot of money was put into the league (Blackburn early years spending) and Man Utd's spending under Fergie TV rights an all.

Football is much bigger than pre 1992.

I agree that football is a much bigger business now.

But winning the Premiership is no bigger deal, or any more difficult, than winning Division 1 was.
You still played 38 games and you still played everyone home and away.

So how would you rate our 4th place finishes in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011 under Wenger?

The start of a new era. Losing Vieira was a huge blow.

Look at all of our league finishes pre 2006 and look at the consistency compared to GG's league finishes. Also taking into consideration that Wenger has took us to 5 FA Cup finals and won 4 of them. 2011 was the biggest dissapointment out of all of them because we were challenging for all 4 trophies in February and nothing 2 months later.

No doubt that we have got consistency under Wenger unlike that judas Graham.

    So under your reasoning:

In 1994, with a team containing players like Ian Selley and Eddie McGoldrick, a 4th place finish in the League coupled with winning the European Cup Winners' Cup is "a joke"

And yet in 2006, with a team containing Thierry Henry and Robert Pires, a 4th place finish and no trophy is "the start of a new era"

    hmmmm......
