The Official Wrestling Thread- WWE, TNA, (other)

Does anyone like wrestlng and I use the term wrestling loosely because now it is more 'sports entertainment' but most people know it as wrestling.

I grew up watching it with family and ive been hooked ever since. I dont watch it as hardcore as I did because now is kinda shit but I never miss a Wrestlemania.

I made this thread after today rewatching some classic matches (WWE, TNA) on Youtube which are still amazing. Any discussion should be here.

Anyone who thinks wrestling is not exciting, boring or who has an interest HAS to see these imo 5 star epics, enjoy.

There's reports that The undertaker has broken several bones, he only just return after a long long time and looks like he will miss the summer.

Randy Orton has suffered dislocated shoulder - so wwe should be changing the storylines.

I don't even watch this anymore, I watch TNA sometimes.

WWE is too predictable and aimed at kids and young teens now really. Yes that includes the hot girls.

still a fan, but I must admit this era sucks compared to the attitude era. I have no clue what kind of talent Vince Mcmahon is looking for but none of these guys have any kind of presence in the ring. In fact most of the new guys have stuttering problems. Hardly the charismatic persona's of The Rock, Stone Cold, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle ect ect ect....

I hadn't missed a Wrestlemania for a long time either, until this year. I like John Cena but only because I liked him from when he first appeared in the WWF. I have to admit his whole character thing is corny. The WWE desperately needs someone to step up like the rock

I've been rewatching Monday Night Raw regularly due to Sky+ and I have become invested in this angle which imo is one of the most epic things I've seen in a long time.

A few months back a news show was introduced called NXT where rookies compete for a WWE contract and several WWE superstars accompanied them as 'pros'. A rookie called Wade Barrett won this show and as a result got a WWE contract, it appeared to be the end of these rookies....

The next Monday Night Raw a simple main event match featuring CM Punk and John Cena ended with this...

This group called Nexus continued to decimate several WWE superstars, legends even Vince Mcmahon himself

I'll admit I'm fucking loving this stuff I love when their music hits then everyone shits themself because of stuff theyve done and I'm enjoying how it is unfolding

So it's just a rework of an NJPW invasion angle back in the 90s and the nWo..? I see wrestling is still just rehashing old storylines. Seems to me like the only difference between this young stable and the nWo is that the nWo was made up with superstars whilst this stable is made up of pretenders. Minus Bryan Danielson.. but he was released. So now they're all just pretenders again.

He's probably retiring so he getting one last run, hes had a long ass career up to now, less muscle than early in his career, prob him vs Undertaker in his last match or some shit

And I agree there is a NWO/invasion similarity but the fact that this shit happens in this kiddy, Spongebob ass time of WWE at least creates some interest despite the group being made entirely of scrubs

Bit I admit theres this one guy in the group that I like, theres this guy who wears a bandana around his mouth all the time like some ninja assassin or some shit

My brother was telling me that John Cena has formed a group too against NXT? Shame not to see Randy Orton there, his character is just too good.

I stopped watching this since eddie guerrero sadly passed away (RIP) - one of my favourites.

Used to love wrestling. I watched a lot of old WCW Nitro & Thunders a few months back. Loved it.

Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell, Hollywood Hogan, Hall & Nash (The Outsiders), Scott Norton, Horace Hogan, The Harris Brothers.. used to love it.

I only just watched that vid above but if it would have great viewing if some of the greats just ran out and started on this nexus group. When ther're beating up cena, undertakers song starts up all goes black then there are 6 of them standing by the entrance (kane, undertaker, whoever else is doing it these days) and they run down the path and into the ring.

Thats what i would have liked to have seen.
