ARSENAL DEBUT - 27th October 2004, Manchester City 1-2 Arsenal (Premier League)

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - 13 (0)
    FA CUP - 7 (0)
    LEAGUE CUP - 12 (0)

    INTERNATIONAL TEAM - Switzerland
    INTERNATIONAL CAPS - 23 (1)

Dojo is a regular for the Switzerland national side with 23 games but has yet to establish himself as a regular for the Arsenal 1st team. With the exit of Toure he should get more chances to prove himself as a decent defender.

Johan Djourou is ready for week in, week out action...

Anyone else agree with me? he has show in most games he has played. He is more than ready in my eyes, a cool headed and composed character nd gets on with the job. Quick, quite clever, good in the air, just what we need week in week out.

Dojo and Gallas looked good yesterday a fully fit Toure and Djourou would be great together!

Yes. He does look as though he could go some way to filling the gap at the back; he is our tallest defender by a long way, is decent in the air, composed on the ball, has plenty of pace and can tackle. Wenger now seems to have confidence in him too, judging by his recent comments and the fact that he started him in a 'make or break' game away to a title rival.

Djourou and Gallas could form a very good partnership, on paper they certainly have the attributes required to complement each other. Djourou can come and attack the ball, leaving Gallas to mop up... much like the way Campbell and Toure used to work.

An interesting fact, taken from football365.com...

Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in seven of the nine matches Djourou has started this season.

Nevermind the own goal he scored yesterday...I think he'll partner well with Toure or Gallas in the centre

He will grow into one of the best there is but then again so will senderos believe it or not, Them two together are definitly a pairing for the future but for now im happy with Toure and Gallas, im also Happy with Dojo but not all the time.
We still need that big guy in Van buyten or Demechelis.

I don't think anyone can blame him for the own goal yesterday. I was very impressed with his display yesterday.

Djourou has great athletic ability, but his positional sense is suspect. Fact.

I would have Djourou playing instead of senderos anytime..He has great potential, considering his lack of first team experience..

I agree with that, he should be picked ahead of him. The own goal was unlucky but it shouldn't happen.

    agree.

so a clean sheet in 7/9 games Dojo started, and could've been 8/9 had he not scored himself then?

i think Toure + Dojo is a pair for the future. not a fact.

saying opinions are facts are annoying. not a fact either.

despite his injury, he was on loan at brum, so i would assume he has as just as much experience as senderos has?

I'd blame him for it but he's no more at fault than most players in that their left leg is just for standing on. If he had gone for the block or interception with his left foot because he was able to use his weaker foot too, then I don't think he would have put the ball in his own net.

RvP favours his left foot over his right but he was still able to smash the first goal in yesterday with his right, and I would expect he's worked on improving that part of his game, so then why don't other players do the same?

I wouldnt put too much pressure on him he hasnt hardly played this season and hes just come back from a injury, everyone wanted silvestre to start.

but Dojo showed his attributes why he should be playing more than silvestre.
He was brilliant in the air, we havent got tall defenders who are good in the air.

but Dojo could be one of them , well done to him apart from the own goal.
