    Francesc "Cesc" Fàbregas Soler

I have decided to open this thread to talk about the man in general. Why? Because he is destined to be a legend. Everything good about Arsenal emits from Cesc. This means there will be so much to talk about this young fella.

There is an thread titled "HARD MAN CESC" presently active which talks about a particular event (alerged incident during the Euro qualifiers). I don' feel the thread title/topic was appropriate. If, however, the adminies disagree, please merge.

    Wenger praise for Fabregas
Arsenal midfielder also compared to Scholes

Arsene Wenger has compared Cesc Fabregas to Paul Scholes and has also pinpointed the spark behind the Spaniards' improved form in front of goal.

Fabregas notched his second Premier League goal of the season on Sunday as Arsenal recorded a 3-1 win over Portsmouth at Emirates Stadium.

Last season the midfielder managed the same number of goals in 38 league appearances and Wenger feels a video has been the catalyst for Fabregas' early form.

"I made a tape of Cesc's games last season and you would not believe how many chances he had in some games," said Wenger.

    Intelligent
"Some games he'd have three chances, but I knew his touch in front of goal would come back. He scored a lot of goals at youth level."

The Arsenal boss also believes his young maestro boasts similar qualities to Manchester United stalwart Scholes.

He added: "Cesc is very like Paul Scholes of Manchester United. He uses his brain and is intelligent in the game.

"He has exceptional passing ability and he knows how to time his runs to get into the box, and he's only 20!"

To compare him to Scholes is an insult! Hes as good as him now and hes only 20. In years to come he will be outstanding. I love the passing more than anything about him. His tackling is pretty good also.

    A fantastic young player.

The most exciting player to have come out of the youth team since David Rocastle.

If he chooses to stay around for a long time he will lead us to more honours than he could at any other team.

    He's a special special player

I get the sense that he eventually wants to play for Barcelona, but hopefully we can hang onto him for many years yet and who knows, he may change his mind in that time.

Can become a legend at the club if he does stay. Great to see him scoring goals on a regular basis now as well...

Give over. Scholes is brill. Don't ever get it twisted

I agree with Wenger with the comparison. There extremely similar. Look below

    1. Go on runs where they don't score goals and then when they do score they come in chunks.
    2. Great passers of the ball.
    3. Always one step ahead of the game
    4. Can do unpredictable things.
    5. Both have short tempers
    6. Not the greatest tackles and can have the odd really bad challenge in a season.
    7. Very Hard one off shots
    8. Both the spine of the team they play for. Without them both will struggle

I could go on but I can't be bothered lol. Its true though Cesc is the new Paul Scholes, but better

I can't believe that he wasn't up for one of the awards last season (shows how shite these individual awards are). He's an utter genius. Just his mere presence on the pitch changes a game.

Take a look at the league cup semi at the Shit Pit last season. 2-0 down and not really in the game after 20 mins. Cesc comes on and there is only1 team that looks like winning.

He could create a yard of space in a wardrobe. He could dribble his way out of a particularly dense minefield and, if pushed, I reckon he could walk on water.

I hope we can hang onto him for a very, very long time to come yet.

Scholes is a very good midfielder, in his prime he was world class.

But Cesc is a different grade. So young yet mature, which helps him identify the game alot quicker than others. He can make an impact for Arsenal when hes brought on from the bench, so the team know the influence he can give during a game.
Glad to see him raking in the goals too, something hes put alot of thought into since last season. I'm also loving the team spirit within the squad aswell. I think the players can identify that Cesc is a brilliant player but his head is at the same level with all of them. When Henry was with Arsenal, he had somewhat of a stature above the rest of the squad and hopefully Cesc doesn't follow suit.

I really do hope he plays out most of his career with Arsenal, theres still alot to be achieved with the club and I think its the perfect time to prove it.
