Has Wenger gone crazy?

Personally i think yes, a life long Gooner, share a season ticket with my ol man and was meant to be at today's game if it wasn't for flu. Lately we have been destroyed by our rivals, who we want to be challenging with on all fronts. No success again, and time after time he picks the wrong players in my opinion, like Walcott who has nothing about him and Almunia who certainly isn't a number 1 GK especially for a title challenging team.

We need to sign players, or next season things could get messy with nearest rivals behind us getting stronger and players like Cesc will want to leave (if they don't already).

It actually feels bad knowing that 5 years ago we has possibly one of the best teams in the world, and going into a new stadium we should have kept it, built upon them and we could have still been there, serious contenders, but Wenger went for an experiment that has gone wrong in my eyes. We need a good few changes to the first team and the bench.

Its obvious what we need and he knows that, A goalkeeer, striker, winger that can cross the ball and a another center midfielder and i feel that with that we would have a side that can compete against all.

I agree le boss, but that's 4 key signings, and I don't think he is prepared to do that. We definitely need a right winger, should have got Maxi maybe from Athletico. I think Chamakh will come in the summer.

I think that's harsh on theo walcott, he's just come back from an injury, and he's probaly started like 2-4 games. It takes time for a player to get back into the form and to perform against chelsea is quite difficult. A.hole did a quite good job to keep theo walcott quite.

why "sign players"?, haven't you realised that signing players isn't the only solution, there are many other solutions. If wenger splashes the cash on a player and if he fails to settle in then what can we say? what will happend to the likes of denilson/diaby? I just feel it's harder now to sign players specially in janaury.

We've had another unlucky season, few regrets and mainly injuries, simple.

So an unlucky past 5 years, I disagree although I see what your saying. We just aren't good enough. IMO, Walcott has had alot of time, he hasn't really improved in my opinion, we need to fix up, get rid of some players like Denilson, Silvestre, and Almunia, bring some quality in.

Last year walcott played very well, he troubled the opponents which his raw pace, that performance against fenerbache is a great example.

But I disagree that he has had alot of time to improve, since his hattrick for england there has been too much pressure from the media and expectations from the fans. But to add more he suffered alot injuries so we just need to be abit patience, i've got believe in him.

Denilson has done pretty well this season, as a attacking midfielder, he's scored quite few goals and assist. But I just think fans mainly judge him badly when he plays as a DM, which I don't get why wenger plays him there.

I think we're not far of winning the title, we have the depth thanks to our youth system, wilshire should start games next season after his complete education at arsenal, and the experience is slowly there which fabregas scoring, diaby avoiding injuries along with rosicky. Just need to avoid injuries that is all!

I agree that Almunia should go, he's lost the magic touch, and vito should be given another chance, I just cannot rely on fabianski. Still believe we need a proper winger and a target man.

Chamakh is likely in the summer.

Its goes to prove that we have no one to feed. We have no torres, drogba, or rooney. You Wenger worshippers would want to take a long look at the stats today. We were all over them but lack the quality to get results. Wenger can go upstairs and sort out the money because thats his only intrest (he would make great bank manager) We need a manager who will sign players to the problem areas. (Cue the worshipers)

times up

i hate to say as i love wenger more than life itself but it may be time to re assess the whole arsenal phillosphy. five years is too long, he has to realise it insn't working and the longer this goes on the more our best players will want to leave. Cesc will get tired of losing and wasting his career, van perise will want to win before he gets too old. 4 well known if not big name signings need to be made and made soon. in arsene we trust.

I think he has gone crazy today he was talking about finishing in the top 4 for the last 10 years is bigger achievement than winning the carling cup.

I expect this kind of statement from the Director of Finance.

I agree and kind of think he uses phrases like that to backup our failings time after time.

I think Denilson could do okay in the AM position but not the DM position. Wenger see's him as a DM though.

Also in regards to Walcott destroying Fener, I'm a Turk and watch quite a bit of Turkish footy, and no disrespect, any winger from the Prem could destroy defences from that league.

that's one of the matches he's performed in though, he's that in many other matches, it's just the injuries, he's rusty, give him some time.

I'd like to see Walcott as a striker, not a winger, he isn't capable of taking on fullbacks AND getting some kind of end product out of it like a cross or some skill, he just runs runs and runs into trouble on the wing, and most of the time, he runs down the wing, passes back to Sagna who can't cross either, and the opposition are on the counter attack. (Just how Drogba scored his 2nd today)
