Yeah you should be able to, its whatever you can afford a week, as long as your willing to pay the fine/costs then they have to accept it, they cant demand it all in one go if you simply dont have it. A solicitor will know more though or you could go to the Citezens advice berau, also you can get duty free Solicitors if ya dont want to pay for one, or is that only if youve been nicked? im not sure. Keep us updated.

Feel sorry for you Jakey. Can understand why you did it. Who would have thought you will get caught. I guess its just Murphy's law.

I think there is some legal statute which says you can pay a minimum of a quid. I remember reading that somewhere.

See thing is, I literally had £15 to my name. The adult ticket was £16. When I got caught I showed the guy my £7 in change, and said I expected a fine. He said he was going to caution me and the matter wouldn't go any further, also said no fine.

That's what I said when I mentioned what I consider 'mitigating circumstances'.

Though I understand this means nothing in the eyes of the law

Joking aside we have all tried this and sometimes you are just unlucky .... I remember when I was younger,,,much younger could not afford the car tax on my car until about the 8th of the month and took my car out once to pick up my , then pregnant, girlfriend and got caught.... just got a caution as next morning I went and got tax to show in my official caution meeting later in the morning......
