A (further) question regarding the OA Bookies

I don't know how the software works so I'm not sure if its possible or not, but is there a way to add doubles/trebles/accumulator bets to it? I know sometimes scorecasts appear on the events as a single you can bet on but is there any way to combine selections? Obviously, players could get better returns for their selections if they could put them together in a double or treble etc.

Just a random example:
Quote:
10 OA Cash on Arsenal to win at 6/4 returns 25 OA Cash

10 OA Cash on Fabregas to score first at 5/1 returns 60 OA Cash

so 85 OA Cash off those two bets from 20 OA Cash stake

But if you could have them as a double with the same amount staked:

20 OA Cash on Arsenal to win, combined with Fabregas to score first at the same odds as above returns 300 OA Cash.
As I say, I have no idea if the software could be used in that way. If not, could we not have more scorecast options or other doubles listed in the events?

I'm afraid not, its a very basic bookie addon for vbulletin.

we can do the more scorecast option manually but on the last few betting events i've done there have been over 20 options for bets on each one, how many ways do u need to lose money?

Not that I mind at all if it were to be expanded, but I feel perhaps it's good that it's so basic

Its hard to predict what players may be playing sometimes, its only really the defence, Fabregas when fit, song and Arshavin who are definates, so doing lots of player bets is difficult when done a few days in advance. Theres been a few times that i've changed bets when the game starts because one player or another isnt playing, and someone always moans they want their money back because its been changed.

Sometimes its easier to do statistical betting rather than player ones.

I'm not entirely sure about how any of the software works and as it's not real money then I suppose you shouldn't have to stick to bookies logic and rules but they tend to have a thing about not allowing multiple bets like doubles where they consider the two things to be related.

So for example if you had a double of Arsenal to win the Premiership at 6/1 and Newcastle to win the Championship at 3/1 and you did a £1 win double and it came in, the you would have your £6 winning plus your £1 stake, so £7 in total of the Arsenal part, going on Newcastle and those are considered unrelated bets as neither have a bearing or effect on the other.

If though Arsenal are playing Liverpool and you wanted to do a double of Arsenal winning and Arshavin to score a hat-trick, if you were right about the hat-trick then you will probably be right about Arsenal winning too and so one bet has a bearing/effect on the other so the bookies would consider those as being related.

If (and I don't know whether this is the case) the software is based on bookies rules then that might be why.

its just a simple add-on, all bets and odds are entered manually. When i do it i get the odds from oddschecker and give the best odds available for each bet set up

I'm a deputy manager in a bookies (the reason that the bookie application has suddenly become much more interesting to me ), and I'm not aware of any issue with a double like the one you mentioned. Other bookies might have different rules but I think the general attitude would be that successfully predicting a hat-trick is relatively rare, and in general a team that scores a hat-trick is likely to have had fairly short odds to win so the double isn't going to do too much damage. (Incidentally, if you want to suggest that a team is unlikely not to win where a player scores a hat-trick I wouldn't have chosen Arshavin and Liverpool as an example )
The only doubles etc we wouldn't take are ones that make no sense, like for the game at the weekend we obviously wouldn't take John Terry to score first and Arsenal to win 2-0.

Anyway, a shame it can't be integrated into the bookie addon. But it'd be nice to have some more options in the game. Halftime/Fulltime betting where you bet who's going to be winning at half time and full time in a match is popular in real life, perhaps that could go into the game?

well if u look at some of the games, they do have that. The west ham game had winning at half time options as did a couple of others. But i'm sure thats something we can take on board when doing future ones.
